For this position you need to work with multiple software teams to make sure all the software (BIOS, FWs, Mac OS X, diags, tools, etc.) in Macintosh system (Macbook Pro/Air, iMac, Mac mini, etc.) works well in all of the developing phases, including live debug in line, working with all software related teams to root cause and fix issues, and developing debug tools and new software functionality. Requirements Have relevant work experience in PC industry (notebook, desktop, server platform or embedded system) Have development and debugging experience on at least one platform Have development or debugging experience in EFI BIOS/Linux Kernel developing/EC FWs/Solaris or other UNIX/Windows/Mac OS X. Self-motivated and willing to take on responsibility, passion for work is very important Good at communication in English and Mandarin Excellent team player Willing to travel and work in factory 2.In Region Reliability Intern(Shanghai) In this position, the intern will be responsible for administration of Lab. in Apple’s contractual manufacturing sites. The candidate will be expected to learn the fundamentals of Reliability test method (including set up of test equipment, test design, test data collection, and analysis reporting. The candidate need to support research of Reliability Engineers by conducting experiments and solving interesting technical challenges across all of Apple’s products and modules. This is an internship with a 6 -12 month timescale (can be negotiated) and an expected deliverable of a complete training program. Description In this position you need to understand the entire process of reliability. test setup and Failure Analysis Development of new reliability tests SOP (standard of process) and report format Work with CM sites lab. Team to make sure the correct test setup and accurate data reporting Support Reliability Engineer to perform Statistical data analysis for risk assessments Min 3 days per week working at Apple Lab or its CM Labs (possible OT work on weekend) Key Qualifications Graduate student of majoring in Material science, Mechanical, or Electrical process (Familiar with Failure Analysis is preferred) Good knowledge on data analysis and database management system English CET 6 Personal Skill Set Collaborate with other team members as well as work independently(required to establish and maintain close relationship with deferent levels from vendors and Apple) Excellent written and verbal communication skill Passion to provide accurate data with attention to detail. Ability to complete assigned work requests and manage multiple deadlines. 3.NPI Operations Intern(Shanghai) Job Summary The In Region New Product Operations team leads all aspects of new product development and product launch within Operations in Asia and is directly accountable for the results. Responsibilities for the team include achieving goals for time to market, cost, quality, product availability and order cycle time. The IR NPO intern needs to work closely with experienced team members and support them to act as on-site lead to address issues & escalations on the ground for clo- sure with consensus amongst project teams. This role will regularly interact with cross function- al teams within Apple as well as team members in contract manufacturer management team. Frequent interaction will involve special skills, such as negotiating, managing and influencing OEM manufacturing partners’ behavior. Key Qualifications The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the following attributes: Incredible drive, motivation, and energy to complete any challenge given. Smart with analytical capabilities and good business savvy. Exceptional communication skills (in both Mandarin Chinese & English) - verbal, written. Exceptional ability to build relationships, build cross-functional teams and exert effective influence in a matrix organization to resolve conflict and drive consensus. Description As a member of IR NPO team, you will be able to get in touch with excellent operation practice and contribute to the successful launch of Apple Product with your professional knowledge and leadership by achieving: Engage with OEM partners and Apple regional manufacturing teams to understand Factory requirement for a smoothly ramp. Drive OEM and Apple Internal team to meet overall program schedule for Equipment/ Capex procurement and set up. Track and report OEM production fulfillment results vs targets / commits, evaluate risks to target attainment and escalate when necessary. Support to prepare project status updates to various project stakeholders, including team members and executives within Apple and OEMs. Synthesize a multitude of issues into a clear, concise and focused message. Support other simulation on factory production activities during ramp Identify improvement opportunities on either process or tools to improve practice and drive projects to completion. Education The ideal candidate should be currently pursuing a B.S, M.S., or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering/ supply chain management or related fields.A combination of both formal education and experience in Engineering and business is highly desirable. Additional Requirements Experiences in Product/Program Management and manufacturing/supply chain operation. Have an aptitude for acquiring skillsPleasant personality, passion for taking on new challenges and able to work under pressure Have strong communication skills and ability to build strong relationships to influence cross- functional teams Proficiency in using Keynote, Numbers, Microsoft Project or Excel. Consistent attendance for at least 3 month is required. 4.Supply Quality Engineer Intern (Shanghai/Shenzhen) Description Responsible for developing, applying, revising, and maintaining quality standards for processing materials, solving complex quality engineering problems in creative and effective ways. Acts as a project leader on a variety of projects. Has a strong working knowledge of quality and reliability concepts, supplier management, with respect to general manufacturing operations management experience. Interfaces with other Apple functional groups as resources to optimize suppliers quality programs. Drive the development and implementation of Product Quality Plan (PQP). Works as a part of a New Products introduction team draw up and/or coordinate and implement the PQP for the site. In conjunction with the design engineers and the site engineers, determine the process goals for products. Evaluates the supplier processes and process controls to ensure product quality and reliability is built in. Monitors each supplier''s performance through measurements of production line statistics, company inspections and audits. Prepares summary of performance and communicates to appropriate management so that effective corrective action plans can be set in place if necessary. Develops supplier capability (including necessary training), establishes proper reporting of in- process and final inspection and test results to Apple. Establishes discovery audit procedures and ensures performance. Provides full support to an assigned area of production/service. May direct the activities of other engineers and technicians on specific tasks. Acts as a consultant to other engineering groups on design of experiments and the analysis of test data to determine outcome. Able to drive FA (Failure Analysis) and improvement actions through data, such as Minitab or JMP. Requirements MS or BS in engineering (mechanical preferred) Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, with good English. Good initiative and independently problem solving skills. Familiar measurement knowledge will be a plus. Traveling flexible and on site support needed. 5.MDE Intern (Shanghai) Description Working on enclosure parts of a NPI project onsite at factory. Mainly focusing on process development, including stamping/forming, CNC, polish, blasting, ano and sub assy for enclosure parts, bridge the communication between product design and manufacturing, help the vendor to do the machine/tooling/fixture qualification to make a robust process, solve technical issues if we have. Need to seamless work with cross functional team from in region and Cupertino.
